Developing
specialized equipment and mobile amateur radio are another fascination. |
|||
The vehicle that
carries me everywhere - a 4wd VW T3 SYNCRO 16” - took us more than one year
to rig up. |
The navigational,
APRS and mapping system, improved over many years, with nearly too many
features. |
||
The portable
transponder increases the radius for RC HF-QSOs during long walks or boat
tours. |
Some people say, that
there are many antennas on this vehicle. But it's just what is absolutely
necessary, isn't it? |

If
you are seriously interested in MAPS, APRS and GPS-NAVIGATION, you
should have a look at the fantastic program
"APR MAP" (APRMAP.EXE) with unique map functions.
It is the little brother of my MAP-software and handles maps in the same way.
It works with raster maps in UTM-projections worldwide. Supported resolutions
are 5000m/p, 1000m/p, 200m/p, 50m/p, 10m/p and 2m/p. Maps in UTM zone 33
projection (identical to the new Swedish system SWREF99TM) all over Europe
are directly accessable. Overview maps are included, detail maps CAN EASILY
BE MADE BY YOURSELF (for example from maps by the Swedish Land Survey
(LANTMÄTERIET) and others. If you want to know more or download the free test
version (no time limitation) or overview maps, have a look here... |
